Q&A and #Giveaway: Children of Avalon Series by Meredith Bond

Image
AIR: Merlin’s Chalice, Water: Excalibur’s Return & FIRE: Nimuë’s Destiny Children of Avalon Series Books 1-3 By: Meredith Bond

Meredith stopped by to answer a few questions about her Children of Avalon Series.

What was the spark or initial idea that started your book?

First of all, Angelia, thank you so much for having me here today. I really appreciate it! The idea for the Children of Avalon series was to describe the beginning of the world I created in my Regency Fantasy Romance, Magic in the Storm. In that book I created a people I call the Vallen. They're a magical people who are tasked with using their magic to make the world a better place (think Benjamin Franklin, Mozart and Einstein).

I wanted to explore how this world began and came up with a prophecy from the great wizard Merlin and a magical chalice in which he left all of his powers when he was entombed into an oak tree by Nimue, the Lady of the Lake. His prophecy states that his descendant (Dylan) and that of M…

Movie Monday - Movies you Watch Over and Over

Image
I'm a chronic movie re-watcher. If I like a movie I have to watch it more than once. And if I love a movie well all bets are off and it probably won't be too long until I know almost every line. Think the Rocky Horror phenomenon.

So, I was just thinking what movies can I basically recite almost every line?

There are actually many more, but I'll leave it with these five. What's a movie you know so well you can recite the lines right along with the characters?

Rereading Books

Rereading books. Maybe not all of us reread books, but I know a lot of you do. Sometimes you just want something familiar. Reimmerse yourself in the world or the characters. Here are my favorite books to reread:

To Die For by Linda Howard
An Accidental Goddess by Linnea Sinclair
The Last Victim and One Summer by Karen Robards
After Caroline and Amanda by Kay Hooper
Family Man and Soft Focus by Jayne Ann Krentz
Sweet Baby by Sharon Sala
Shadow Game by Christine Feehan

When I was heavy into Nora Roberts I reread Sanctuary, Montana Sky, and Born of Ice over and over.

I can remember rereading Battlecry Forever by Joanna Campbell,  the Hart & Soul Series by Jahnna N Malcolm, the Secret of the Unicorn Queen series, and of course many Nancy Drew Files over and over when I was a teenager.

What are your go to rereads?
